Developed from concept to completion by Defined by Media,, the South Pole Spring 2007 campaign was an inner look at the diverse, positive, creative outlets of today’s youth. Each ad portrayed a different positive activity – from skateboarding and custom bike building to DJing and drawing – that gave magazine readers an aspirational alterative to the standard fare in today’s urban periodicals.

For the client, it was very import that these ads not only show the models and their activities but also feature multiple facets of the product itself. As a result, a comic-book-inspired layout was used with both establishing shots and extreme close-ups on the same page. The resulting ads created an establishing shot, shots which detailed the desired creative activity, and several product shots. Beyond ads, the campaign was extended to include trade show materials, static online banners, and in-store posters.
